taking the words of Jesus seriously

This was fun.

Cambridge Educated ex-lawyer turned Australia comedian, Alice Fraser has a successful little podcast called “Tea with Alice”. The ethnically Jewish, Buddhist raised, now agnostic Alice is one of the most intelligent, awkwardly delightful new comedians Australia has to offer… with mad banjo skills.

So naturally when she asked to hangout I jumped at the opportunity. Totally unscripted we sailed through discussions of Narnia, Wil Anderson, Žižek, Zombies, art, activism, Tom Ballard, evolutionary biology, Pete Rollins, comedy, Thomas Merton, nonviolence and disarming with laughter.

Slavoj Žižek:

“Kierkegaard insists on the comical character of Christianity: is there anything more comical than Incarnation, this ridiculous overlapping of the Highest and the Lowest, the coincidence of God, creator of the universe, and a miserable man.”

Listen here (starts 1 minute in and really gets going about the 10 minute mark).

Enjoy. 🙂
