taking the words of Jesus seriously

I’m so excited to see this US example of alternative economics: the Rolling Jubilee! It’s self described as “a bailout of the people by the people” in which the project buys debt for pennies on the dollar, but instead of collecting it, abolishes it.

This is what Jesus announced in Luke 4 as his mission and the church in Acts 2 & Acts 4 lived as their witness. Our adventure is making Christ’s and the early church’s economic mission and witness ours in creative ways that speak to our context.

Lord, give us more imagination and courage to live your red letters!

The launch party is tonight, November 15th at 8pm Eastern time — watch it live here
