taking the words of Jesus seriously

Interested in writing for Red Letter Christians? We’d be delighted to consider your work! Take a look at the content on our site to familiarize yourself with our voice and tone. Then read the guidelines below to find out how to best send your materials.

OUR FOCUS
We seek to provide our readers with soul stirring, thought provoking, and action-oriented reflections about Jesus and justice. We mainly publish articles that provide faithful, insightful, and solutions-oriented commentary on current events. We seek articles grounded in scripture and theology that challenges the way we think and live, all with the goal of emulating Jesus’ love, mercy, and counter-cultural way of living. Interviews, book reviews, and sermons are also welcome. Fiction, poetry, letters to the editor, and press releases are rarely published.

Be sure to review our blog content to get a sense of what we’re looking for before you submit your materials. We are particularly interested in centering the voices and experiences of those underrepresented in Christian publishing: LGBTQ+, women, people of color, etc.

COMPENSATION
We currently do not have a budget to pay writers. However, we will do our best to amplify your voice and work via our Facebook and Twitter channels and/or Catch Up e-newsletter. Select authors will also receive invitations to write Wake Up devotions, to speak on our podcast, or to join our network of leaders, as well as the opportunity to reserve free ad space or shout outs in our periodic partner roundups.
