I don’t know if either of my daughters are gay or straight or will want to be in relationships at all. That isn’t the point. What worries me the most is what role they will play in a parable about love.
It is my sincere prayer that the love that is the very essence and nature of God would break through the fear that enslaves the hearts of the leaders of the Southern Baptist Convention.
But Maundy Thursday is a reminder to me, a fairly direct message from Jesus, I believe, to keep going, be brave, and keep diving into the awkward mess of love.
