William Trollinger

William Trollinger is Professor of History in the History and Religious Studies Departments at the University of Dayton. He has a B.A. in English and History from Bethel College (MN), and a M.A. and Ph.D. in History from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He writes on American evangelicalism/fundamentalism, creationism, the Ku Klux Klan, and the Christian Right, among other topics. His latest book is co-authored with Susan Trollinger: Righting America at the Creation Museum (Johns Hopkins, 2016).

In short, the quantitative and qualitative evidence – and, I will add, my own anecdotal evidence – strongly support the argument that the Christian Right has been a primary factor in the decline of white evangelicalism in the last decade and the dramatic rise of the nones since the 1990s.
