taking the words of Jesus seriously

My most popular sermon undoubtedly is, “It’s FRIDAY…But SUNDAY’s Comin’!” I’ve preached this story for decades now ever since I first heard it preached in my home church in Philadelphia. Contrary to what many people think, it is not my sermon. I stole it from my former pastor at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church.

Throughout any given year, I preach the sermon 40-50 times, but it never feels as good to preach as it does on Good Friday. Below is a video recording of a time I preached this sermon a few years back. Share it with a friend today and remember that today may be Friday and the world is telling you that you won’t amount to anything. That you aren’t worth anything. But never forget, today may be Friday and it may be dark and gloomy. But it’s only Friday!

And be sure to check out our store for my book based on this timeless sermon. This book is for everyone who has lost at love, been let down by life, and feels like their universe is unraveling. Today is Friday, and we know that Sunday’s comin’!
